Bob sees our everyday experience of rapidly increasing change as a critical new challenge that few have learned to cope with. He sees our tradition of cicumstance dominated thinking and acting as less and less effective in producing results as our ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances lags further and further behind. Bob's own experience building his career and business success on vision dominated thinking has convinced him it's time for more of us to learn we don't have to be boxed in by the traditions we grew up with.
Bob has a track record of outstanding personal and organizational success. He graduated last in his class of over 600 from high school yet rose to lead a multibillion dollar high technology organization of more than 20,000 people at Lockheed. As a CEO he turned around a shrinking $30 Million company to growing over 1000% to more than $325 Million. He kept the same management team that was in place during its six year decline and did not terminate any employees. He led a corporate team to the unprecedented win of the $15 Billion NASA Space Shuttle Processing Contract and his company to winning a national quality and productivity award among many other successes.
It's easy to see that keeping the lifestyle they've got is more important to most people than creating a new one. Said another way, avoiding losses is more important to most people than gaining benefits. Nearly everyday we see it's easier to build a coalition of people against something than for something.
